Mike Ransaw ED.S, LMHC

Professional Service Provider For Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Emotional Trauma, Relationship & Family Issues

Welcome. My name is Mike Ransaw, LMHC, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor here to guide you through life's most complex challenges. My private practice is dedicated and committed to providing services to children, teens, young adults, Millennials and Gen Xers who are experiencing depression or anxiety related symptoms that may include: Withdrawing from Family, Excessive Worrying, Reckless Behavior, Changes in Sleep Patterns or Appetite, Panic Attacks, Anger, Irritability, Persistent Sadness, Trouble Concentrating and Suicidal Thoughts.

MR LMHC® is a professional yet personal endeavor created and dedicated in memory of my brother, who struggled with mental health, substance abuse and addiction, resulting in his accidental death. He was 43 years old. My brother never received the help or hope he needed from the available residential treatment facilities nor support groups during this time. I then realized that people who struggle with addiction have a right to live a life of fullness, even when incapacitated by mental health and substance abuse issues. MR LMHC® works diligently to help those like my brother, who never received the help needed, to maintain mental and physical well-being. MR LMHC® envisions a place in which there is no stigma in needing mental health services, no lack of resources to combat substance abuse and mental health issues, and no barriers to the care and recovery of oneself and the ones we love. Recovery from mental illness and substance abuse is not only possible but highly probable, and we believe individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues can overcome and live enriched and happy lives.

I am the author of New Approaches to Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling, and have several years of experience in various industries, including Child Welfare, Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice, Public Education, Inpatient Psychiatric Care and Outpatient Mental Health Care. Currently I am the Director of Clinical Services for a Community Based Child Welfare Agency serving five North Central Florida counties while providing psychotherapy in my private practice. I received my B.S. Degree in Psychology from Troy University and proudly lettered as a member of the Troy University Trojans Football Team. I earned my M.S. Degree in Counseling from Barry University and my ED.S Degree in Leadership & Administration from Nova Southeastern University; both well-respected Universities accredited by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). I am active in various community advocacy projects and serve on various advisory boards addressing issues of children's mental and behavioral health, school and collegiate mental health, substance abuse, delinquency prevention, domestic violence and child welfare.
